About this gauge

“G” pipe gauges: what they are and how to choose

On a parallel G thread the seal is made outside the thread, for example with a washer or gasket. The gauge therefore verifies the thread fit and not a pressure seal.

G threads are not the same as taper pipe threads such as BSPT or NPT. If your joint seals on the thread itself, you need a taper pipe thread gauge instead.

External G threads are made in tolerance class A or B. Each gauge ships with a NABL accredited test certificate.

A G thread is parallel and seals outside the thread. A taper pipe thread such as BSPT or NPT seals by the taper itself, and needs a different gauge.
