About this gauge

NPTF & ANPT gauges: what they are and how to choose

Dry-seal threads need controlled crests and roots so the joint seals without relying on sealant. That is why NPTF is verified with L1 and L3 plug and L1 and L2 ring gauges, and ANPT with 6-step crest crack members.

NPTF and ANPT are not interchangeable with standard NPT, so confirm the standard on your drawing.
